Cupido
is said to stand for our family. In a predictive chart,
its placement can predict things such as marriage,
or success with your art if you are an artist. This
is because Cupido also represents the arts, or artists
in general. It also represents sociability. Cupido
encompasses that whole concept of belonging -- that
sense of belonging you get when you are among family
or very close friends.
Bear
in mind that Cupido is a slow moving planet, so when
we compare this in aspect or transit we need to take
that into consideration and understand the only connections
that are strong enough to even be noticed are those
that connect within one or two degrees of the orb.
When one of the transneptunians does hit you by transit,
it will last some time, perhaps a year or so. Cupido
is more of a "friendlier" energy. Seeing
Cupido coming toward you is a good thing.
We
can look to Cupido when studying a chart to get a
handle on someone's family, or even how artistic they
might be. Cupido contact to North Node, for instance,
would indicate an artist or a connection to artists.
A Cupido Sun can also be an artist, but it will also
be someone who is very either connected to family
or is very marriage-oriented, meaning the person is
never really alone. If Cupido comes to you as Cupido
Ascendant, it creates an environment that is family-oriented
or family-focused. A pregnant woman could have this
for a Solar Return angle for example. Cupido/Midheaven
could be getting married. So this gives you some example
of how Cupido is read in chart work. For those of
you who dabble in astrology, take a peek at what Cupido
is doing in your chart and then in the charts of loved
ones.
