When
we think of Kronos as energy we think of words like
authority and phrases like "to be
an authority". Kronos relates to our credibility,
it is also associated with high altitudes.
Kronos was the father of Zeus; he killed his own father,
Uranus, and tried, but was not successful in killing
his own children. Zeus saved his siblings according
to the story. For our own interpretation of Kronos,
we look to the fact that he was the father of Zeus.
He represents authority; he also represents things
such as our own credibility. When we look into our
charts for Kronos, we are looking at our own authority,
whether it is how we deal with authority or describing
our own credibility as an authority figure. How do
we handle authority in general, whether it is our
own or those who structure us and how we live? Things
like governments and bosses come under the energy
of Kronos. In the house placement, you can determine
what areas of your life you could find yourself an
authority, or where you will have to deal with those
in positions of authority. How we deal with authority
can be seen by the aspects or relationships between
Kronos and the other planets or energies.
It may even be related to those you have to prove
your authority to -- for example, someone with Kronos
in the third house may have had to prove themselves
to their siblings or neighbors. With the third house,
you are also looking at someone who might use the
vehicles of communication as their pathway to their
own credibility. This might be someone who knows how
to communicate in a manner that makes him or her appear
more credible or like an authority. Kronos is also
said to rule over time, so the timing of events can
be very important when we are talking about Kronos
situations or appointments.
Kronos is also the ruler, and with looking at the
aspects of a Natal Kronos, we can see what kind of
ruler or authority figure a person might be. Rules
and regulations can fall under the heading of Kronos,
particularly if it relates to what makes one credible
or an expert. One's competency is directly related
to their Kronos, and whether or not they are driven
to be competent at what they do. Looking at the transiting
Kronos, one can determine if they are working on their
own credibility and where they are doing that in their
life, as well as what area of their life the authorities
they have to contend with are having an impact.
It is also good to remember that Kronos was a very
hard ruler, and that he did terrible things to get
where he was and he continued to try and save himself
at the sacrifice of his own children. He did not succeed
ultimately, but remember that power can have its own
downfall and that because of our human nature, we
don't always handle power well.
